I am enamored with weddings because they are one of the happiest days in a person’s life. I love everything from seeing families coming together to the small details that go into making each wedding unique. But nothing beats being able to capture portraits of a newly married couple sharing their first blissful moments.
Tulum Wedding
This wedding was definitely a feast for the eyes! I loved all the vibrant colors Patty and Vidy chose for their big day. They wanted to combine the colorfulness and diversity of the Indian culture and the warmth, celebration, and liveliness of the Latin culture. They wound up pulling it off beautifully.
These two met in Germany when they were at a work event and began a long-distance friendship. After a few months, work brought them back together, this time in Mexico City. They started meeting for coffee in their free time and a relationship grew quite effortlessly from all their visits. “It was very serendipitous how it all worked out,” said Patty.
While they were working together in Mexico City they had an opportunity to visit Tulum and fell in love with it. When they started planning their wedding the choice for the destination was obvious and they started hunting for venues in Tulum.
Patty created her dream wedding dress with the help of a designer. She had originally wanted a timeless dress with Swarovski buttons on the back but couldn’t find what she was looking for. After finding two dresses that she liked, she had a designer combine them and make it flowy with all the details she wanted. “In a nutshell, simple, beautiful, elegant, and timeless is what I wanted,” said Patty.
The couple wanted an intimate and romantic vibe for their ceremony and reception. They wanted to provide a relaxing, musical, and vibrant ambiance for their guests and I think they really achieved that. I loved the vibrant pink rose petals the guests tossed after they said “I Do” and how they matched the linens on the chairs. The venue was oceanside which made it so whimsical and yet you had this really modern light-up dance floor juxtaposing it. For an added touch there were really pretty chandeliers hung all around the venue.
Patty and Vidy’s favorite part of the day was their first walk down the aisle as husband and wife but they had some other memorable moments. From their first dance at twilight to splashing in the ocean and losing Vidy’s glasses, this couple was so full of love and spontaneity that it was a joy to watch. “The wedding was a wonderfully packed timeline of beautiful memories,” said Patty. I’ve photographed many wedding and that is exactly the sentiment you want to walk away with. Don’t stress about the details and enjoy your day like these two!
