I am enamored with weddings because they are one of the happiest days in a person’s life. I love everything from seeing families coming together to the small details that go into making each wedding unique. But nothing beats being able to capture portraits of a newly married couple sharing their first blissful moments.
Holman Ranch Wedding
Though I love shooting real weddings and capturing emotional moments between couples starting their exciting journeys together, sometimes it’s fun to photograph a styled shoot to get the creative juices flowing. I had the opportunity to do Reach the Workshop, lead by Carlie Statsky and Engaged and Inspired, which used amazing local vendors that created beautiful shoots. The picturesque Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley served as the backdrop for 3 very different styled shoots: Classic Luxury, Colorful Latin, and Boho Chic. In this post I will be sharing the Classic Luxury Shoot.
For the Classic Shoot the tables were dressed with white linens from La Tavola Linen and white plating from Borrowed Blue was set on elegant marble slabs. They added gold flatware that matched the gold-trimmed wine glasses as a nice accent. It was elegant and clean which laid the path for the beautiful colorful florals by Mandolin Flowers which ran down the center of the long table.
The bride looked stunning and whimsical with a flowing down hairdo and a classic makeup look by The Glamourist. She wore a gorgeous lace top dress that was perfection and accessories that were simple but just the right amount of bling. Her groom donned a classic black tux that tied the look together. They looked like something out of a romance novel. I loved this whole set up because it was beautiful but not showy.
